Easter scavenger hunt.

Since Easter time is coming.
I’m going to share photos from our March trip to Orlando. There at the hotel they already put out decorations for Easter more than a month ago. The decorations were very bright and festive. The bright yellow butterflies were one of my favorites but there were other bright things that kids liked.

It’s an interesting idea to make an arch form easter eggs. It makes guests feel welcomed for sure.

Big ladybugs are also drawing attention, I don’t know who made all these beautiful decorations but I think they did a great job.

There was a scavenger hunt for kids, where kids had to guess the hints from the poems in this book. With our help they managed to find all the bunnies hiding in the bushes.

Kids got some prizes for findings all the bunnies.

This big egg to the left looks very modern like if it came here from an art museum. I kind of like it:-)

Blue butterflies are also pretty but not as much as the yellow ones. I think their wings are too bended.

If I compare Easter goodies in the US to those in Central Asia and Eurasia, there is a big difference. Kids there eat real hard boiled eggs that are dyed with food coloring or onion peel (old school), as a dessert they get special sweet bread called Kulich (covered with white icing and sprinkles). In the US I see a lot of egg shaped candies and chocolates. I don’t really know if families here eat a special holiday dinner for this holiday. I only saw kids’ part of this holiday. It’s funny that I’m realizing it now as I’m writhing this post. I need to ask around my friends what do they do on Easter here.

I also always wondered why bunny is a main character of this holiday here? Why does he bring eggs? I need to read some kids books to find that out, I guess:-)

Well whether it’s a bunny who brings the chocolate eggs or friends knock in the door with the dyed hard boiled eggs, this holiday was meant to bring joy to the people who celebrate it. So happy Easter to those who observe this holiday.
