My first (rookie) photography gig!

Heyah photography lovers!

It's my first time posting in this community, and I'm really looking forward to learning photography tricks and continuing my photography adventure, which has been on hold for a few years. To give you a brief history, when I was a student, I loved being in front of the camera. However, after graduating from college, I became more interested in being behind the camera, capturing moments, and archiving memories. When I had the opportunity to go overseas, my interest developed even more. The beauty and uniqueness of the places I've visited have fascinated me. Each place has its own character and vibe, which I'd like to portray with my rookie lens.

My first (rookie) photography gig story

While storing up my files, I stumbled across the photography file folder I created when I traveled to Qatar to visit my family and got my first photography gig from a family friend who trusted me to photograph their prenuptial shoot. A nostalgic emotion raced through my veins. I miss taking pictures. I haven't held my camera in roughly two years. My camera is a Nikon Coolpix that was handed down to me by my sister @fitlipinasarah. Adulting happened, and I had very little time for my hobbies.

It was my first overseas photography gig for this prenup shot. I had previously done photography sessions, but they were just experimental and for fun. When someone invited me to do their prenup shot, I remember being quite scared. Only one of two things might happen: I could either make or break their prenup shoot. The first thing that came to me was panic. Then after, do some research on what to prepare. I was a newbie at the time, and I'm still learning about photography. We chose to conduct the photoshoot near the sea shore and sand dunes and then play with the camels because we're in Qatar. I was rather nervous, to be honest. But I'm grateful to the friends of my family who trusted me with this project.

These were some of the images I captured.

Set 1: Sea shore

It was still the chilly season because it was the beginning of January. We were both shivering with cold, and I was trembling with panic. Haha. Look at that scenery and that adorable couple, though! It's just stunning.

Set 2: Sand dunes

The couple stood out in their formal clothes, poised and lovely. The sand dunes' grandeur was breathtakingly beautiful. This was actually difficult due to the harsh light of the sun, but I'm glad we got it done.

Set 3: Pose with the camels

My favorite set! I had never seen, touched, or ridden a camel before. I was astounded by their tenderness and the Arabs' willingness to let us photograph them. Here are more snaps of my favorite photos in this set.

Before I forget, I'd want to thank my family for their help with this effort. It was a more family-oriented activity. My sister did the makeup for the upcoming bride as well as the various outfits. My mother also helped my sister. My uncle took us to the sand dunes, and my aunt helped us pose. Haha! I'm fortunate to have such a supportive family.

That was a genuinely enjoyable and memorable event for me. From a simple pastime to a potential source of income. Those were the days!

Adulting happened, and I never had another opportunity to do these things. Right now, I was more interested in randomly photographing buildings, views, and people. Perhaps I'll return with a better camera in the near future! For this season, I'm content with what my iPhone captured. I'm excited to be a part of this group and continue my photography adventure.

Do you have any recommendations for cameras? I'd be delighted to hear from you!
Thank you so much for your time spent reading. Continue to capture moments!

Hello! Thanks for reading.
