The Mating Season of Hübner's Wasp Moth

These are some of the beautiful macro shots I tried to take this afternoon. The mating season of Hübner's wasp moth (Amata huebneri, Boisduval, 1829) has begun on the grassland. The male approaches the female to court it.

I'm sure they began this beautiful moment by exchanging pleasantries in a language only they understood, and soon the copulating actually started.

Even though the grass where they were doing it swayed in the wind that afternoon, they both did it calmly. Then again, they are not disturbed by crazy insects.

They appeared to be quite happy to stay where they were. They continue to have copulation with passionate desire, regardless of the circumstances around them.

While the afternoon wind blew gently and the grass danced with that as well, this one stood alone. It seemed to be out of luck, or perhaps it was waiting for its mate. But it had been waiting for a long time for something that had not yet come.
