Yes it's very thick and an useful shortcut when needing to get to the other side of the city! But don't worry about the fish, they still have more than enough room in the warmer water under the ice.

Wow! A short cut! Nice! You don’t have to go all the way to a bridge. Only ever seen frozen river in old paintings in museum! Good for the fish to have warm water under the ice. Thanks.
