Life, oh, dear
Who would have guessed that we would wish to return to the past?
Because we all wanted to go past particular phases.
But, oh no, reality sets in.
Born as an infant, we long for adolescence, and when we do reach adulthood, it's not what we had anticipated. Adulthood is like climbing a hill after a downpour without shoes; occasionally we stop to catch our breath, but more often than not, we fall back to the bottom and have to start over.
Nobody is following you about here, attempting to control your behavior, or determining whether your life is in order.
It is only you. You are the only one in charge of yourself. What should we do then? Ah, that query: where should we begin?
Then we start to make wishes.
I wish I could go back in time to my childhood. Well, I should have done this. The truth is that we can only hope that the adulthood we so desperately wanted—to be free from our parents' criticism or unnecessary reprimands that would have made us feel ashamed—will never come again. We must accept this fact, no matter how many times we fail.
There's no going back.
