Hi everyone, it's a pleasure sharing another #KISS blog with you this week. Today, I want to talk about 'reset' because I very much could do with one right now. The question is,
How do you identify that a reset is needed? What are some of your favourite places to go to reset, and what are some of your favourite activities to do for self-care?
So how do I identify I need a reset? That's simple. It's so obvious when I get to this point, that anyone around me could easily tell. My facial expression and body language say it all when I'm overwhelmed. I become extra sensitive, easily irritated, and I can't think straight.
It is at this point my toes begin hitting every corner, I slam doors on my hand, mistakenly cut myself with knives, and become clumsy with everything. Everything and everyone can tick me off at this point and if not for growth and awareness of what's happening to me, I'd be extra mean.
Insomnia hits very hard in such times and I cry for not being able to sleep because of stress. It circles back to me being stressed out because I can't sleep and it goes on and on like that. I also get physically sick as a result so I try to have a reset before I even get to that point.
Last week was one of such overwhelming times that I knew I needed a reset. I was in tears from being stressed out and I promised myself I needed to relax as soon as I had free time. Last weekend, I went out to just chill. I'm a homebody so it's a big deal that I'd willingly want to go out.
I particularly love going outside to parks for a reset because nature is healing. I love admiring the trees and inhaling cleaner air while the breeze tickles my skin. It's also a good time to observe humans and animals and let my mind wander.
This park I go to doesn't give me the whole package though. For instance, there's nowhere to rent a mat for a picnic so I can lie on the grass. Still, I manage. It's dear to me because this was where I had my first date with my husband and I always feel nostalgic here.
There's something about nostalgia that's calming, I guess that's why I feel so relaxed here and not necessarily the sights of the park that look even more unpleasant as the days go by. I like it at this park, I get to reminisce a lot here and it gets me thinking only happy thoughts about the present and the future. That gets me recharged and is key in my self-care.
Other self-care activities I do are cleaning, skincare, and movie watching. Yep, cleaning, you read right. It's not one of my favourite things to do but I can't deny how calming it is to be in a freshly cleaned space. It makes me feel like I have it all together when I clean my space.
Showering, doing my skincare routine right after that and then snuggling in bed with a movie has all my happy hormones working. With a smile on my face, it is clear I got a happy reset and I can take on the world again.
How do you reset? Care to share a #KISS blog with me? @orah14
Thanks for reading!

The park, and anywhere in nature really, is a great place to reset. There is something very relaxing, calming and relieving about being in natural environments.
That's right. It's just so...free.
This prompt is "bomb" I've been meaning to write something on this but laziness won't allow me 😂. Thank you for mentioning me ☺️ and if this contest doesn't end today, I'll be sure to join in.
This is exactly how I feel and one of the things I do too. The satisfaction you get after cleaning is pleasant to the mind.
The prompt is on till Saturday and you can still answer the questions if you wish even after then.
Maybe we should just accept we love cleaning? Lol
Okay.
Thanks
I'm not ready to accept yet o, last time I did that my mum made sure I was the only one on cleaning duty 😂 and my siblings didn't spare me either, I had to denounce my love for cleaning. 😆
Relatable 😄😄
Hello @wolfofnostreet
You seem to have a great awareness of your emotions and feelings, which is remarkable. I like your habits for recharging and finding a good reset.
Thanks for sharing this with us :)))
Thanks for always reading, I appreciate it.
You're very welcome, always:)))
For me it is swimming …once I am in the water, all my troubles and stress goes away
Niceee. Quite the opposite in my case. I hate water.
Chai you hate water ke?
😭😭😭😭 so I can’t take you on a swimming date like this
I will enter o but I will complain you'll tell me to get out 😄
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
when I notice my body needs some kind of resetting, its just to lie down and sleep. I cannot come and kill myself
Lol...I wish I could sleep that easy
I get how nostalgia can help you reset. Reminiscing about happy past experiences help us remember that things aren't always bad even though they may seem that way sometimes.
I can be in a bad mood and talking about some of my childhood shenanigans with my siblings helps makes me happy.
It's cute that you still visit the place you first had a date with your husband, it really is.
I don't have parks around me but I can imagine how nice it'll be to go chill in one.❣️
Same here. It's a mood booster and generally makes me appreciate life more.
I can totally relate🥰🤗
Nostalgia is quite a beautiful thing. It makes you relive amazing moments of your life. A good way to reset... ❤️
Certainly...
