I know people are aware of good eating habits and climate change but this is only a reminder to them so that they can take necessary actions for themselves and can make this world a better place to live.
The climate change has become a global concern over the last few decades. These climatic changes are having various impacts on the ecosystem. Due to these changes, a number of species of plants and animals have gone extinct. There are numerous reasons for climate change but the most important is food.
What does food has to do with climate change?
What we eat, and how that food is produced, not only affects our health but also the environment. Food needs to be grown and processed, transported, distributed, prepared, and consumed. Each of these steps creates greenhouse gases that trap the sun’s heat and contribute to climate change. The largest chunk of food is related to greenhouse gases which comes from agriculture and land use.
What can we do?
Cut food waste :- Think about how to buy, prepare and dispose of food. When food is thrown away, we are also wasting the energy, land, water, and fertilizer that was used to produce, package, and transport it. Only buy what is needed – and use up what is buyed. Stop the waste, save money, reduce emissions, and help preserve resources for future generations.
Shop with a reusable bag :- The production, use and disposal of plastics contribute to climate change. Instead of a plastic bag, use reusable bag and reduce the amount of plastic waste in our world.
Nowadays, kids, teens, adults and everyone need to eat healthy food more than ever. We must encourage good eating habits so that our future generations will be healthy and fit.
Most importantly, the harmful effects of junk food and the positive impact of healthy food must be stressed upon. People should teach kids from an early age about the same.
If we look at the scenario today, we see how fast the food market is increasing at a rapid rate. Although junk food is also tastier and easier to prepare but just to satisfy our taste buds we keep risking our health. And as a result consumption of junk food leads to poor concentration.
On the other hand, healthy food not only keeps body healthy but also mind and soul. Plus, it enhances our immunity system.
At last, I would like to conclude by saying that we must recognize that though junk food may seem more appealing but it comes with a great cost. A cost which is very hard to pay. Therefore, we all must eat healthy foods so that we can strive for a longer and healthier life.
