Here at home we are doing the same, trying to make kids participate more in the house tasks. When I was a kid, my mother prefered doing by herself, since I wasn't never enough doing that, she prefered her way.

We've been trying to get our older boys to be more involved with chores and such, but my wife has always wanted to be the one to take care of everything, so it's a little difficult to transition.
