RE: To fill these empty spaces...

I'm, mostly, the same way when it comes to writing. Come to think of it, I feel like all great writers are introverts at heart. Being transported and existing in that magical place of the creative flow, even for a little while, is very restorative.

I can tell I have the DNA of my father (extrovert) and my mother (extreme introvert) because I have both of these tendencies inside of me. I love to socialize with friends but then I need to retreat into solitude and silence to recharge the batteries.

I heard recently they came up with a new word that means you're both:) I think wanting to socialize with dear friends and finding pleasure there can still be introverted though. How do you feel with large gatherings of (quasi) strangers?

That would definitely be me. I’ll have to look that up. Large gatherings, for me, very much depend on the vibe and my mindset. Work functions used to be problematic for me because everything was so “forced” or “superficial” but if I feel comfortable and the vibe is genuine I’m usually at ease.
