Three Tune Tuesday, Music from a Movie Soundtrack

Here we are at Tuesday already. While most people will be worrying about the election in the US today, I'm doing my best not to even think about it. I guess that makes it a day perfect for Three Tune Tuesday! Before I jump in, I want to say thanks to @ablaze for starting and continuing to support this fun weekly event. This past week weekend I watched a movie made back in 1999 called "Idle Hands". It's kind of a comedy/ horror movie mixed with a stoner theme. It's funny, I hadn't seen it in more than 20 years so it was all kind of new to me all over again. Is it the best movie ever made? No, but worth watching with some big named actors in it like Jessica Alba, Seth Green, and Vivica Fox. What I really enjoyed was the soundtrack, it had some really good music, so today I decided to share a few of the songs from the movie.

The Offspring

The Offspring are a band from Garden Grove, California that I have shared many times. The produced some great music throughout the 1990's and 2000's. In the movie they appear as the band in the high school dance and performed a cover of the song by the Ramones, "I Wanna Be Sedated". They did an amazing job! The lead singer Dexter Holland gets killed off in the movie as well in a hilarious fashion. Here's their cover of "I Wanna Be Sedated":

This band formed in Long Beach, California in 1988, not too far from where I live. Come to think of it all of the bands today are from the greater Los Angeles area. Sublime picked up a pretty good following in California from their first two albums but widespread fame had eluded them. They recorded their self titled third album in early 1996 which was released in July of the same year and was a chart topper. However in May that same year lead singer Bradley Nowell died of a heroin overdose never living to see the band's major success.

Their contribution to the soundtrack was: "Santeria"

Mötley Crüe

Mötley Crüe have long had a reputation as the ultimate bad boys of rock n' roll. All the members were addicts of one drug or another and were known to trash hotel rooms during their tours. Somehow this band from Los Angeles managed to survive their wild days of their youth and are all still living. However, their wild days has earned them the repeated snub of the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. They were a great band and put on amazing shows! Their song from the movie soundtrack is: "Shout At The Devil"
