African Music Festival keeps festival ALIVE during Lockdown... And I got to be apart of it! #STRAB |MOZAMBIQUE

in Music5 years ago

Salutations everybody!

Over this past weekend I had the privilege of being apart of something truly special.
On the 19th of March it was announced that #STRAB ( Subterranean Ry-them And Blues ) will be postponed till later in the year due to a nation-wide #Lockdown in South-Africa and Mozambique.

We were heart-broken. This is a festival that has become an institution. Its the lifeblood of the local economy. People get to feed their family the rest of the year because of the money generated by the festival. Many a tears were shed that day. What we would have given to be on the pristine beach of Ponta Melongane.

Yep. That is me. I've been performing at this festival for the last 5-years. Hell, they like me so much they made me the Master of Ceremonies. This year promised to be something truly spectacular. AND THEN, this global mess...

#Lockdown had everyone bleak until the wonderful people of Africa came through. BIG-TIME.
