Music in an Art Gallery [eng/deu]

We played at a very unusual place this lunchtime.

A gallery opened up in an old McDonald's place in Stevenage and they wanted some music, which was organised for the venue by a local agent.

We're on from 2pm till 3pm but when we got there we were told we could play as long as we fancied.
The space was pretty bare with just the walls full of pictures and you didn't need to worry that there would be enough reverb on the voices.. there was too much of it and the organiser tried to get some carpet to reduce it.

The major problem was that we had to compete with what was going on outside. In the third picture you can see a trailer outside in the square where they had people doing "karaoke", that's what it is to me when people sing along to backing tracks, sorry.

They were very noisy as you can imagine, I saw people dancing.
We had a couple dancing to our stuff as they went around looking at the drawings, but in the end we cut our set short as it wasn't a lot of fun and there was no pay, so we called it a day.

Some of the paintings looked very good; they took that one on the right with Samuel L Jackson down, I think the sum of £150 was mentioned.
I hope that is SL Jackson.. lol

Behind the post there and cut in half is an image of Mr Bean, pity I didn't pay more attention when I took it.

I'm hoping to post some more videos here soon as I started going through them now that my arm is on the mend.

Wir haben heute Mittag an einem sehr ungewöhnlichen Ort gespielt.

In einem alten McDonald's-Lokal in Stevenage wurde eine Galerie eröffnet und sie wollten etwas Musik, die von einem lokalen Agenten für den Veranstaltungsort organisiert wurde.

Wir waren von 14 bis 15 Uhr auf der Liste, aber als wir dort ankamen, wurde uns gesagt, wir könnten so lange spielen, wie wir wollten.

Der Raum war ziemlich kahl, nur die Wände waren voller Bilder und man musste sich keine Sorgen machen, dass die Stimmen genug Nachhall haben würden... es war zu viel davon und der Veranstalter versuchte, etwas Teppich zu besorgen, um es zu reduzieren.

Das Hauptproblem war, dass wir mit draußen konkurrieren mussten. Auf dem dritten Bild seht Ihr einen Anhänger draußen auf dem Platz, wo Leute „Karaoke“ machten. Das ist es für mich, wenn Leute zu Playbacks mitsingen, tut mir leid.

Sie waren sehr laut, wie Ihr Euch denken könnt, und man konnte Leute tanzen sehen.
Wir hatten auch ein paar, die beim Begucken der Bilder im Rhythmus gingen, aber am Ende brachen wir unseren Auftritt ab, weil es nicht viel Spaß machte und wir nichts dafür bekamen, also machten wir Schluss.

Einige der Gemälde sahen sehr gut aus; sie namen das rechte mit Samuel L. Jackson herunter und ich meine einen Betrag von £150 gehört zu haben.

Hinter dem Pfosten dort ist Mr Bean in zwei Hälften geschnitten; schade, dass ich nicht besser aufgepasst habe, als ich fotografierte.

Ich hoffe, bald weitere Videos hier posten zu können, da ich angefangen habe, sie durchzugehen, jetzt wo mein Arm auf dem Weg der Besserung ist.
