El 22 de noviembre es el día internacional del músico, fecha que conmemora la muerte de Santa Cecilia, mártir del cristianismo y patrona de los músicos, esta celebración suele estar acompañada de conciertos, recitales y misas en honor a la santa, mi comunidad también lo celebró organizando una amena tarde de presentaciones y reconocimientos. Aunque ya pasaron varios días, nunca es tarde para reconocer este bello arte y felicitar a todos los músicos que practican el don que Dios les dio y que se encuentra en hive y en esta comunidad. ¡Recibe felicitaciones de mi parte! 😉🫠🤗.

For the first time, I celebrated Musician's Day by playing on stage 😉🎵

International Musician's Day

22 November is International Musician's Day, a date that commemorates the death of Saint Cecilia, martyr of Christianity and patron saint of musicians. This celebration is usually accompanied by concerts, recitals and masses in honour of the saint. My community also celebrated by organising an enjoyable afternoon of performances and awards. Although several days have passed, it is never too late to recognise this beautiful art and congratulate all the musicians who practise the gift that God gave them and who are found in hive and in this community. Mi primera presentación

Tengo dos meses estudiando flauta dulce, guitarra clásica y lenguaje musical en el núcleo de la orquesta sinfónica de mi comunidad, antes también formaba parte del coro y tuve una única presentación en la casa de la cultura de mi municipio, pero decidí retirarme del coro porque la coral tiene muchas presentaciones y se aprenden canciones a la velocidad de la luz, yo no podía aprender a ese ritmo tantas letras y menos retirarme tantas horas de casa porque tengo la responsabilidad de cuidar a mi abuela, y demás familiares, por este motivo deje la coral, pero continué con los instrumentos de viento y cuerda.

My first performance

I have been studying the recorder, classical guitar, and music theory for two months at my community's symphony orchestra centre. Before that, I was also part of the choir and had a single performance at my municipality's cultural centre, but I decided to leave the choir because it has many performances and you learn songs at lightning speed. I couldn't learn so many lyrics at that pace, let alone spend so many hours away from home because I have the responsibility of caring for my grandmother and other family members. For this reason, I left the choir, but I continued with the wind and string instruments.

En otras publicaciones he mostrado a mis compañeros de flauta y lo divertidas que son mis prácticas, las clases de flauta son dos veces por semana, por eso solo nos dio tiempo de aprender dos canciones para presentar una de ellas es: Noche de Paz, música de villancicos conocida mundialmente y la otra fue la Jornada, que es una canción del género popular venezolano de Navidad, parecido a los villancicos. Ambas canciones las tocamos como parte de la cátedra.

Fue mi primera vez tocando un instrumento delante de un público siendo adulta, ya que tuve una experiencia de niña con el instrumento cuatro, y cabe destacar que estaba muy nerviosa, pero no más que mis compañeros 😁 que a última hora dos de las niñas grandes decidieron no participar, lo que redujo el grupo de 7 participantes a 5.

In other posts, I have shown my flute classmates and how much fun my practice sessions are. Flute classes are twice a week, so we only had time to learn two songs to perform. One of them is Silent Night, a world-famous Christmas carol, and the other is La Jornada, a popular Venezuelan Christmas song similar to carols. We played both songs as part of the course.

It was my first time playing an instrument in front of an audience as an adult, as I had experience with the cuatro instrument as a child. I should mention that I was very nervous, but no more so than my classmates 😁. At the last minute, two of the older girls decided not to participate, which reduced the group from seven participants to five.

Esa tarde fue maravillosa y sentí que todo salió perfecto, la coral cantó hermoso, los músicos de la orquesta fueron impecables y yo tuve otra experiencia en mi vida relacionada con la música. Después de realizar todo el recital comenzaron a dar unos reconocimientos a los profesores y también a los niños y jóvenes que formar parte de la escuela de música, los reconocimientos fue una iniciativa de los padres y del personal administrativo para todos, y me sorprendieron cuando me llamaron para entregarme uno de los reconocimientos 🥹🤭 momento que el director aprovechó para bromear diciendo que yo era la más pequeña del núcleo 😏🤨 ja, ja, ja y que nunca es tarde para empezar.

That afternoon was wonderful, and I felt that everything went perfectly. The choir sang beautifully, the orchestra musicians were impeccable, and I had another experience in my life related to music. After the recital, they began to give awards to the teachers and also to the children and young people who are part of the music school. The awards were an initiative of the parents and administrative staff for everyone, and I was surprised when they called me up to give me one of the awards 🥹🤭. The director took advantage of the moment to joke that I was the youngest member of the group 😏🤨 ha ha ha and that it's never too late to start.

Después de esta sorpresa, llego el pastel en forma de guitarra, una idea genial para celebrar la fecha, el pastel estaba delicioso, cantamos cumpleaños y a comer. Me sentí muy contenta por haber participado y por el reconocimiento, agradecí a todos y me retiré rápido por mis compromisos familiares.

En la noche estando en casa, me sentí algo nostálgica y me puse a reflexionar sobre la idea de ser músico, siempre he disfrutado de la música, pero nunca me he creído uno como tal, con este reconocimiento nace un compromiso en el cual estaré dedicando parte de mi tiempo. Me despido agradeciendo su apoyo y espero regresar pronto para compartir lo aprendido 😉.

After this surprise, a guitar-shaped cake arrived, a great idea to celebrate the occasion. The cake was delicious, we sang happy birthday and then ate. I was very happy to have participated and for the recognition. I thanked everyone and left quickly due to family commitments.

That night, at home, I felt a little nostalgic and began to reflect on the idea of being a musician. I have always enjoyed music, but I have never considered myself one. With this recognition comes a commitment to which I will be dedicating part of my time. I bid you farewell, thanking you for your support, and I hope to return soon to share what I have learned 😉.
