Greetings on this beautiful Monday, I wish you a happy and prosperous week. Today I am back to share with you another MUSICAL MONDAY, the initiative created by @eugelys, a large space, to which we can bring any musical experience.
Semanas atrás, estaba revisando YouTube y me encontré con una grata sugerencia musical. Al principio estuve reticente a ver el video, pero luego de mirar mejor la descripción, me pareció interesante, y fue chévere haberle dado una oportunidad a esta sugerencia, porque me encontré con una estupenda fusion musical. Se trata de Larry & Joe, un dúo de músicos muy virtuosos, uno venezolano y el otro estadounidense, (Larry Bellorín y Joe Troop, respectivamente). En esa ocasión pude disfrutar de la primera canción que les compartiré en este MUSICAL MONDAY, y al oírla, me animé a revisar con más detalle el canal de este dúo y procedí a suscribirme. Fue una buena decision.
Weeks ago, I was checking YouTube and came across a nice musical suggestion. At first, I was reluctant to watch the video, but after looking at the description better, I found it interesting, and it was cool to have given this suggestion a chance, because I found a wonderful musical fusion. This is Larry & Joe, a duo of very virtuoso musicians, one Venezuelan and the other American, (Larry Bellorín and Joe Troop, respectively). On that occasion I was able to enjoy the first song that I will share with you on this MUSICAL MONDAY, and upon hearing it, I was encouraged to review this duo's channel in more detail and proceeded to subscribe. It was a good decision.
According to what I have been able to read about Larry & Joe, these musicians met in the United States at the end of 2021, and from there they joined their talents to create and cover the good folk music of both countries. (Venezuela and the United States). To this date, they have two productions, the first from 2023 was titled Nuevo South Train, and the second, the most recent, Manos Panamericanos. Today I will share songs from both albums. That being said, let's look at my songs.
Mis canciones para este Musical Monday / My songs for this Musical Monday
As I already indicated, my first song of this MUSICAL MONDAY is the first one I heard from Larry & Joe, and it is the beautiful bluegrass song (North American folk music, specifically from The Appalachian Mountains), titled I'll Be Back to the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a beautiful song, in which Larry's voices and Venezuelan cuatro and Joe's violin come together masterfully. I really liked the freshness and energy of this song, which even though it is nostalgic, is also hopeful. Here I leave you the official video where we can see both musicians in full action and the official audio that is included in the second production as well.
I continue with the beautiful Venezuelan tonada, original by maestro Simón Díaz Mi Querencia, where we can see an interesting fusion of llanera harp (Larry) and banjo (Joe), and the voices of both interpreting this beautiful song , (to be honest, I don't like Joe's intonation, but hey...), which is included in the first production. Y para finalizar mi MUSICAL MONDAY, les comparto la versión instrumental del hermoso vals venezolano Como llora una estrella, original del maestro Antonio Carrillo, del cual hice un post tiempo atrás. Es un muy interesante arreglo en donde armonizan los sonidos del arpa llanera y el banjo resonador de 5 cuerdas. Es una versión muy bella de este vals, aquí les dejo el audio oficial, incluido también en el segundo disco.
And to end my MUSICAL MONDAY, I share with you the instrumental version of the beautiful Venezuelan waltz As a star cries, original by maestro Antonio Carrillo, about which I made a post some time ago. It is a very interesting arrangement where the sounds of the llanera harp and the 5-string resonator banjo harmonize. It is a very beautiful version of this waltz, here is the official audio, also included on the second album.
