El tema que voy a interpretar tiene por título "Playa Girón" Y es del cantautor cubano Silvio Rodríguez. La primera vez que la escuché me pareció una canción profunda cargada de contenido poético, musical,y espiritual. Hoy sigo pensando lo mismo. Existen diversas interpretaciones sobre el contenido de esta canción, por ejemplo se dice que fue escrita inspirada en la historia de una guerra que tuvo desenlace en Cuba. Otros son de la opinión que fue inspirada en una flota pesquera que llevaba ese nombre en donde el cantante compartió faenas de trabajo con los pescadores. También se cree que fue escrita en honor al grupo de pescadores antes mencionados, los cuales murieron en alta mar. En fin solo su creador sabe cuál es el significado y su intención.
The song I'm going to perform is entitled "Playa Girón" and it's by the Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez. The first time I heard it, it seemed like a deep song full of poetic, musical, and spiritual content. Today I still think the same. There are various interpretations about the content of this song, for example it is said that it was written inspired by the history of a war that ended in Cuba. Others are of the opinion that it was inspired by a fishing fleet that bore that name where the singer shared work tasks with the fishermen. It is also believed that it was written in honor of the aforementioned group of fishermen, who died on the high seas. In short, only its creator knows what the meaning and its intention is.
Hace poco hice referencia sobre ese toque especial que cada músico tiene y desarrolla en sus interpretaciones convirtiéndolos en personalizados. Quiero agregar mi toque personal a esta música, no sólo en la parte instrumental sino en su interpretación. Quiero manifestar con ella lo hermoso de la poesía, la música, y el sentimiento por un mundo lleno de armonía, un mundo de convivencia basada en el respeto, un mundo en donde prevalezca el amor.
I recently made reference to that special touch that each musician has and develops in their performances, making them personalized. I want to add my personal touch to this music, not only in the instrumental part but in its interpretation. I want to express with her the beauty of poetry, music, and the feeling for a world full of harmony, a world of coexistence based on respect, a world where love prevails.
