History of music

The history of music is knowledge about the origin, development and existence of music, from its inception to the present day. Music is known in every human culture, both in the past and in the present, in all epochs and places. Scientists believe that modern man appeared about 160,000 years ago in Africa, and 50,000 years ago they began to settle on all continents. Since all human groups, even the most isolated tribes, have music, it must have been present before the dispersion of the people of the world. Therefore, music is at least 50,000 years old and was invented in Africa, after which it evolved to become an important part of human life.

The culture of music is influenced by all other aspects of human culture, including the social and economic structure of society, climate and geographical features, ideas and religions. Music in form and type varies greatly depending on the place and era of creation. "Musical history" is a part of the history of music, also called "historical musicology", dealing with the study of music, composition, performance, perception, criticism in its various eras. Musical history has mostly dealt with the last almost 1000 years of Western European music, from the appearance of the notation in the Middle Ages to the present day.

                                     Prehistoric music

Prehistoric music, or as it is often called, primitive music, is the name given to all music made in pre-educated cultures - prehistory as part of history. The music of Native American and Aboriginal societies in this sense is prehistoric as characteristics, but here the anthropological term traditional society is used and therefore it is traditional Native American and traditional Australian music, while prehistoric is that of Europe before writing, so music from non-European continents of this type of prescribed societies are called folklore, traditional and in some cases reflecting outdated anthropological linguistic uses and as indigenous.
