Hey there @ebingo
I love piano songs too, and cool you have chosen to play this one. Well, grace note, as I said, dont pay too much attention to the grace note but the main one, there the support and weight of your arm have to go ;)
You are doing well, and grace notes, scales, and all will come with time.
Btw, you say you were trying to search for the chords by ear... DO you sometimes use scores? Or chords, for the guitar it is always easy to find on the net, so you can easily transform them into piano chords. Don't know, just a suggestion, but if you like to spend your time trying to find out them by yourself, well it is fun too ;D Seriously. It can be interesting and you can also learn through it, and fro the next songs it is every time easier and easier to decode the songs, as mainly they to by patterns, that are widely used.
Keep up the good work 😉
It is a lovely song indeed.
I'm working on a sam smith song with one grace note. I've been ignoring the initial key before the main key. While I rehearse it I'll consciously add it till int blends in subconsciously like the other notes.
Its all muscle memory and I'll keep on with it.
As for playing by ear the first step for me is to get the main scale of the song then the progression follows.
I've found that some chords sound alike but the 1st chord is very distinct. Like Cmaj on Key C. But I could mistake it with Amin sometimes🙈...and Amin sometimes sounds like Fmaj and Fmaj like Dmin
