Hello dear music community, I'm Mariflautacubana, and it's a pleasure to be back here to continue promoting my art and contributing to the spread of good music. Today I bring you a live video of my solo performance with the Cuban trio Kndilejas at the Grand Aston Hotel in Havana, Cuba. I perform a bachata version of the song "Someone Like You" by British singer Adele.
I must confess that I prepared extensively for this performance, especially regarding the language aspect. Where we play, there's always a wide variety of tourists, and it's crucial to be fluent in English, since it's the universal language and we had to sing many songs in it. I mention this because singing in English for a Cuban or Spanish-speaking audience, where we still need to be fluent, is not the same as singing for an audience from another country, specifically one that speaks English or another language that isn't Spanish. The level of rigor is much higher. But it's nothing we can't overcome with study and dedication. Besides, I love singing in English, and that's why I enjoy pleasing our audience.
This song is one of my favorites by Adele, especially because of its lyrics. It tells the story of how, upon learning that a former love has found someone else and gotten married, a mix of emotions arises within her, and she realizes that despite having moved on, she still feels a deep connection to her ex. This ballad, with its blend of soul, pop, and blues, explores the pain and acceptance of lost love. Definitely a great song. I hope you like it!!!

Hola querida comunidad de Music, yo soy Mariflautacubana, y es un placer poder volver acá para seguir promocionando mi arte, y también contribuir a que reine la buena música. hoy les traigo un video en vivo de mi presentación como solista junto al trío cubano Kandilejas, en el Hotel Grand Aston en La Habana, Cuba. Interpreto una versión en el género bachata de la canción Someone like you, de la cantante británica Adele.
Debo confesar que para esta presentación me preparé mucho, sobre todo en la parte del idioma, ya que donde tocamos siempre hay gran variedad de turistas, y es muy importante dominar el inglés, ya que por ser el idioma universal, tuvimos que cantar muchas canciones en él. Hago alusión a esto porque no es lo mismo cantar en inglés para un público cubano o de habla hispana, donde igual tenemos que defender bien el idioma, que para un público de otro país, específicamente de habla inglesa u otro idioma que no es español. El nivel de rigurosidad es mucho más alto. Pero no es nada que no podamos resolver con estudio y dedicación, además a mi me encanta cantar en inglés, y por eso me gusta complacer a nuestro público.
Esta canción es una de mis favoritas de Adele, sobre todo por su letra, ya que nos habla sobre cómo al enterarse de que un antiguo amor ha encontrado a otra persona y se ha casado, se despiertan en ella una mezcla de emociones, y se da cuenta de que a pesar de haber seguido adelante todavía siente una conexión profunda hacia su expareja. Esta balada con un estilo combinado entre soul, pop, y blues explora el dolor y la aceptación de un amor perdido. Sin dudas una gran canción. Espero les guste!!!!
