This is a song I've been trying to learn for a pretty long time, it has an F barre chord in it which even after almost 2 years of playing guitar still tends to trip me up! I ended up using the cheater F since I am only picking the middle 4 strings on that part :p
The song Is called Hell and You by Amigo the Devil and would be classified in the murderfolk genre. I really enjoy this type of music because it's got a really fun juxtaposition of dark themes but usually has a good bit of humor as well.
It took me some time t find a way to sing it that fits with my vocal range, the original has a much deeper voice and I find when singing a cover my voice always wants to pull towards the original and it takes a lot of practicing to sort of get the original out of my head if that makes sense.
I also still cannot for the life of me keep my eyes open while I sing, I guess I find it distracting? idk, maybe I need to get myself some of these 😂

Man!!! I love your voice! You’ve got a really hypnotic style, I swear something in it wrenches my soul! (I guess that could sound like a bad thing but I mean it with the utmost respect!) I can do a little finger picking style from time to time, but you’ve really got some excellent skills there as well - I’m watching close and learning by absorption (I hope) :)

Soul wrenching is good 😂 A lot of songs I like using fingerpicking style so I gravitated towards learning that more than strumming, when I'm learning a new pattern I sometimes just sit on the couch and train my picking hand. Funny what you say about learning lyrics by heart, there are some songs I've heard a million times but without the track playing I just can't seem to remember it's actually kind of surprising how tricky it is 🤔
HAHAHA! yeah man, for sure! Another funny one that happens to me as a chronic site-reader, is when the printed lyrics don’t match what I have been saying when I sing along with the radio over the years - totally throws me for a loop 😄
Once it gets stuck in your head wrong there's no turning back, just call it artistic licence at that point 😎

As you sing well your voice is melodious and sweet. I adore. It's not easy to play and sing. If you have another, I'm a taker your tone of voice is perfect you have to continue
I appreciate it, singing and fingerpicking has been quite a challenge but I'm feeling more comfortable as time goes on ✌️
I like music and I am also an amateur musician but unfortunately for me I sing out of tune or not enough to make me listen.

I play my instrument by ear I don't know music theory. By the fact I hear all my wrong notes that I sing and I know that this cape for me can never be passed
I don't know any music theory either, it helps but I don't think it's necessary to play music. My best advice is record yourself, listen back, cringe and use that info to see what you need to improve 🫠
