Photo Gallery of some of the Weirdest records I found at Goodwill
What's good Hive Friends?
Do you know what Goodwill is?
Goodwill is a type of store across America. It offers countless types of products, including toys, clothes and books. Their stores are massive and often span an entire mall storefront. Whether you’re searching for a one-of-a-kind item or rummaging for vintage clothing for cheap, you can find it at your local Goodwill. Their mission is to assist low-income families to have a better quality of life, create jobs that increase the potential to gain marketable skills and provide career training for those who lack those opportunities. The best thing about giving donations to Goodwill is that you can receive a tax write off!
So, in summary, people drop off used items at Goodwill. Goodwill then put a price tag on that used item, and sells it all to someone else. This makes for an interesting dynamic of things in the store to look at. One thing is records!
It's fascinating to go through the racks of old records at the Goodwill store. You never know what you're going to find, especially when it comes to the weird stuff. The other day my Mom and I went to Goodwill to find some covers for the couch. So, when she was rummaging around the shop, I went to the old records section and took some photos.
Here's a photo gallery of some of the peculiar records I found at Goodwill.
** Disclaimer, I took the photos, but the artwork on the photos is not mine. I don't know how to source it or credit it, so please don't hate. Further, my comments are not a reflection on music style or preferences, it is just me being silly. So, please enjoy.
In my life by Judy Collins... Do you love listening to music? Have you ever wondered what you would say if you had to write your own song? Well Judy Collins thought of the same thing when she wrote her song, "In my life." And she put her stories and thoughts into this song.
Memories, Sing along with Mitch. Ah, Mitch Mitch Mitch. You seem like the type of dude who would listen to me. We can sit outside by the pool and talk about flowers and birds..
In a German Beer Garden, Joseph Holzer and his WOODCHIPPERS?? OMG, I wonder why they have wood chippers in a German Beer garden... I bet that would make for a great YouTube channel.
Jerry Vale, The Impossible Dream? I wondered what his dream was... did he accomplish it? Well, I guess if it was impossible, then well... perhaps he did not. Shoot for the stars and end up on the moon I say.
Arthur Fiedler. 50 years and 50 hits. Wow, that is a solid track record. He looks like a good magician as well. I wonder if he pulls rabbits from his hat?
The Louisiana Man himself, Doug Kershaw. Just look at that weathered face. Small puckered lips of a working man. I wonder if Doug still lives in Louisina or has he moved on? The world may never know...
Born Again! While this is not a commentary on religion, I find most religious records and covers to look a bit strange... Very SCIFI to me.
Here is "The Torchbearers", a smoking trio of mismatched gents with slightly questionable hair choices, and just look at the Timex watch on the middle one, classic!
Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade... is this a record of poems, or a how lounge like a sultan's story book? I am not quite sure. But, that lady sitting seems intent on listening more to the musical styling of this guy, or perhaps it is the other way around???
Stan Rogers, from fresh water... Is Stan from fresh water? I think that is the case, yes... I would like to think he is a salty dog, but the title tells me otherwise.
Sandler and Young, the come back... I have to ask about their fall... was the return back a success? What cause the downturn? So many questions and questions that can only be answered if you buy this record.
Any who... Maybe the treasure you’re looking for is in your own backyard. Possibly it’s in your old house. Potentially it’s in Goodwill. Whatever it is, you never know the interesting things you might find when you look at the things that are near and dear to you differently, such as old records at the back of a slow Goodwill.
Thanks for joining me today on this romp through the vintage. I hope you enjoyed it.
Cheers

The photos look very nice. Sometimes I want to share a photo of a work or a painting, but I am afraid that there is a problem with the source.
