Over the years, I have listened to different types of music and found that every now and then, a new music style emerges to grab the world's attention, especially that of young people. I'm sure many of you have heard this South Korean K-pop band, called BTS or also known as “BangTan Sonyeonda” either through social media, television or radio. And in this post I want to tell you a little bit about this talented group.
Hace dos años, escuchaba a mi hermana cantar un idioma extraño, (a ella le gusta mucho las canciones en inglés, pero esta vez no era inglés, valga la redundancia) le pregunté “¿Qué rayos estas cantando?” y ella me empieza a comentar de este grupo asiático y la verdad me llamo muchísimo la atención, porque este grupo era diferente a los demás grupos que solía escuchar, ya que estos chicos cantan, bailan y actúan en sus MV (Video Musicales) de una manera muy artística. Las letras de sus canciones, la manera en que se visten y bailan, fueron una de las cosas que más me atraparon y desde entonces me volví fan de este grupo, empecé a preguntarle el nombre de cada uno de ellos, de donde eran, cómo llegaron a ser grupo y conocerlos me generó una verdadera inspiración que más adelante les estaré comentando.
Two years ago, I was listening to my sister singing in a strange language, (she likes songs in English but this time it wasn't in English, redundancy) I asked her "What the hell are you singing?" and she started to tell me about this Asian group and the truth is that I was very impressed, because this group was different from the other groups I used to listen to, because these guys sing, dance and act in their MV (Video Music Videos) in a very artistic way. The lyrics of their songs, the way they dress and dance, were one of the things that caught my attention and since then I became a fan of this group, I started to ask the name of each one of them, where they were from, how they became a group and knowing them generated a real inspiration that I will be telling you later.
En la actualidad, BTS es tan popular que rompió las barreras del continente asiático, ya que sus sencillos no han sido solo reconocidos en Corea, sino también a nivel mundial. En el 2017, BTS se consideró el representate del K-pop ya que se posicionaba en el N° 1 en los Billboard 200 con el Álbum “Love Yourself: Tear” siendo el primer grupo de K-pop en presentarse en unos premios americanos.
Currently, BTS is so popular that it broke the barriers of the Asian continent, as its singles have not only been recognized in Korea, but also worldwide. In 2017, BTS was considered the representative of K-pop as it ranked No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the Album "Love Yourself: Tear" being the first K-pop group to perform at an American awards.
A pesar de su popularidad, este grupo también ha sido criticado no solo en su región, si no a nivel mundial también, lo cual me generó demasiada duda ya que a mi parecían demasiado talentosos y me di cuenta que no era más que envidia, ya que estos chicos no ocuparon esa fama y puesto por solo ser lindos; cada uno de ellos pasaron años entrenando y preparándose en la música, bailes, canto y rap para llegar a ser lo que son ahora. A mi parecer, estos chicos no son como muchos artistas de hoy en día que de la nada prestan una colaboración con otros cantantes y ya se hacen famosos, sino más bien, BTS es considerada como una banda que realmente trabajó y se preparó para brindarle buena música a su audiencia.
Despite their popularity, this group has also been criticized not only in their region, but worldwide as well, which generated too much doubt in my mind because they seemed too talented and I realized that it was nothing but envy, because these guys did not get that fame and position just because they were cute; each one of them spent years training and preparing themselves in music, dancing, singing and rapping to become what they are now. In my opinion, these guys are not like many artists nowadays who just collaborate with other singers and become famous, but rather, BTS is considered as a band that really worked and prepared to bring good music to their audience.
Otra de las cosas que más me impactó de este grupo es el amor hacia sus fans, el cual ellos le llaman “Army” acrónimo de “Adorable Representative MC for Youth”. El término MC es especial para los raperos de un alto nivel que significa “Maestro de Ceremonia”, por lo que, usar este término para BTS significa que somos especiales para ellos porque somos su MC y al mismo tiempo ARMY, que significa “Ejercito” en inglés, ya que según los integrantes, sus fans son el ejército que fielmente luchan por ellos.
Another thing that struck me the most about this group is their love for their fans, which they call “Army” acronym for “Adorable Representative MC for Youth”. The term MC is special for rappers of a high level which means "Master of Ceremony", so, using this term for BTS means that we are special to them because we are their MC and at the same time ARMY, which means "Army" in English, because according to the members, their fans are the army that faithfully fight for them.
BTS es un grupo que no ofrece músicas vacías; sino más bien su música se basa en inspirar a sus ARMYS a ser mejores personas y que experimenten cambios positivos en sus vidas. Estos chicos son una motivación para aquellas personas que tienen sueños por cumplir, y esto lo reflejan en su canción debut “No More Dream” donde hablan de una sociedad que siguen patrones de aquellas personas que tienen sueños pero se cohíben de cumplirlos ya sea por el que dirán o por sus inseguridades. En otra de sus canciones también exhortan a aquellas personas que dudan de sí mismas a que aprendan a creer y amarse tal y como son, como lo reflejan en las canciones “Shadow” “ON” “Epiphany” “Refletion” y como les había comentado en mi primer post, esta fueron una de esas canciones que me ayudaron a combatir con mis inseguridades.
BTS is a group that does not offer empty music; rather their music is based on inspiring their ARMYS to be better people and to experience positive changes in their lives. These guys are a motivation for those people who have dreams to fulfill, and this is reflected in their debut song “No More Dream” where they talk about a society that follows patterns of those people who have dreams but shy away from fulfilling them either because of what people will say or because of their insecurities. In another of their songs they also exhort those people who doubt themselves to learn to believe and love themselves as they are, as reflected in the songs “Shadow” “ON” “Epiphany” “Refletion” and as I told you in my first post, this was one of those songs that helped me to fight with my insecurities.
Si no has escuchado a este gran grupo musical, de verdad te invito a que lo hagas, y te darás cuenta que sus canciones son más que un deleite musical o auditivo. Sus canciones son de mucha edificación para nuestro ser interior y sobretodo, nuestro corazón.
If you have not listened to this great musical group, I really invite you to do so, and you will realize that their songs are more than a musical or auditory delight. Their songs are of much edification for our inner being and above all, our heart.

Hola! Me gustó mucho tu post. A mí me encanta BTS 😍 soy Army! En realidad los descubrí hace poco y me enamoré, por qué es verdad, ellos no son sólo caras bonitas, en realidad son unos chicos súper talentosos y trabajadores, han entrenado duro para llegar a donde están y se ven súper humildes. Las letras de sus canciones son súper lindas y emocionales, muchas veces a mí también me ha hecho sentir mejor escuchar su música, me anima y también me encanta verlos bailar, lo hacen súper bien! Me encantan "ON" "Life Goes On" (una obra de arte) "Telepathy" y "Blue and Gray" (otra obra de arte) y claro también me gusta mucho "Dynamite" pero cuando la escucho se me queda demasiado pegada en la cabeza así que ya que me pasó la fiebre con ella procuro evitarla.
