This is his definitive masterpiece. One of John Coltrane's "protégés", he expanded his mentor's "spiritual jazz" originated on A Love Supreme (1965). When Coltrane passed away, he collaborated a number of times with his widow Alice. Journey to the One (1980), Rejoice (1981) and his contribution on Kenny Garrett's Beyond the Wall (2006) are also very good.
