Three Tune Tuesday: Rediscovering The Cab

Lately, my TikTok feed has been flooded with clips from The Cab’s concert here in Manila, and it made me regret not going 😭 Seeing all those videos brought back so many memories I didn’t even realize I was still holding onto.

For those who might not know them, The Cab is an American pop-rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. I’ve been listening to their songs since high school, so seeing them pop up again after all these years felt unreal. I never really thought they’d make a comeback, so watching fans sing along at their concert felt both exciting and heartbreaking at the same time.

Back in high school, my friends and I used to rent music studios just to hang out and play instruments 😂 We’d try to cover different songs, and of course, some of those were by The Cab. Revisiting their music now feels like opening an old scrapbook filled with memories. Very nostalgic!! That's what I like about music, they transport us back to a certain memory.

Whenever The Cab is mentioned, Endlessly is always the first song that comes to mind. It was released on August 23, 2011 as part of their Symphony Soldier album, and I’m still amazed that I somehow remember almost every single lyric. This song feels emotional in the best way. Listening to it now reminds me of how deeply I connected with this music back then.

This song has always been one of my favorites. You can really feel the emotion, not just in the lyrics but in the way the music builds up. Vegas Skies was released on April 29, 2008, which blows my mind because… that was 17 years ago already??? It’s one of those songs that never loses its impact.

Intoxicated is another song that instantly pops into my head whenever I think of The Cab. It has that catchy pop-rock sound that makes it easy to remember. Maybe that’s why it stayed with me all these years. It was also released on August 23, 2011, and realizing that just makes me feel so old 😂 Still, it’s such a fun and memorable song and it brings back so many good memories from my high school days.
