After playing an instrument a while, you figure out your weaknesses and strengths. If you rely only on your strengths, you will never be a perfect Player. So you must know your weakness and do a lot of exercise about it. every exercise focus on a special technique. Doing exercises improve your brain responsibility and your physical muscles. you should find the best exercises for your weakness and you must know what you are really doing!

To become a professional musician you need to be able to analyze a piece of music. On the other hand, you should watch the world's great musicians playing your own instrument. You need to be able to analyze the techniques, the details, and how to execute the notes. It may be hard for you to believe that you can improve your playing just by focusing on the power of the mind and analyzing the playing of great musicians.

The most important thing that can make you a good player

What is the most important thing for being a successful player? If I want to say there is one important thing. I would say A Metronome. yes only a metronome can make you a good player. Practicing with a metronome is the most important thing. If you are not familiar with it and if you do not like the metronome I would say you'll never gonna be a good player. Metronome

How to do exercises with a metronome

Do you want to play fast? everyone does :D but Rome doesn't build in one day. Speed is not everything, playing Clear is more important than speed. There are a lot of players out there that playing fast but dirty. Accuracy is very very important, without accuracy speed is shit!

So how can we play accurately? The answer is metronome! Put your metronome as downtempo as you can, start practicing slowly. SLOW SLOW and SLOW. but accurate!
Now, after a while, slowly increase your speed (of course still with metronome), Speeding up as much as you still be accurate. And keep it up. Don't forget to analyze your playing and weaknesses every time. so you can fix them out.

Finally one day you will understand that you improve well and you are fast and accurate.

Thank you for reading, I hope every new musician improves in their path and be successful.
Write your opinion for me and I will read them all.

I love this post so much. As a student of music from the age of 9, I had a practice regimen kinda drilled into my brain from a young age (sign-off sheets for my parents that certified I’d spent X amount of time working scales, playing with a metronome, running various sections of pieces of music, etc.)

Practice was a way of life. During that time, however, I found that I didn’t spend a lot of time playing, because it felt like it was just all about practice.

Then I took on a few instruments (including guitar) that I insisted that I did not want lessons for. This was the exclusive reason why. The Practice. I knew if my parents were paying for it, that it would suck the fun out of it for me because of their constant nagging about practice.

So, in turn, I fell in love with playing guitar, but never got as good as I could have because I never really wanted to practice to become better. I wanted to use my set of acquired chops and just roll with it. I’ve had success, too, (I’m in my 5th year as a full-time musician) but I know I’m not nearly as good as I could have been with more actual practice and less playing.

Anyway—balance is hard. This post is a great reminder that to be a well-rounded musician, one needs balance.

Thanks for the post. Thanks for being here.

Thank you for you comment buddy. I like it so much. Now that you are interested in the guitar, if you take some time to practice, you will make a lot of progress. if you want help i am here 😉

"Speed is not everything, playing Clear is more important than speed." but for me, speed is the biggest challenge. Even working with a metronome.

you need too speed up slowly over time, but keep the accuracy. each time rise your tempo 5 or 6 bpm and keep it up.

I am so guilty of this. I definitely need to practice more!

every one need to practice more. even me even john petrucci 😅

Start with 30 minute a day , slowly make it 1 hour, after that make it 2 but in separate times of the day. If you ever need help I am just here

30 minutes may be manageable, but I mostly squeeze my guitar playing in while @ZakLudick and I are having a Braai (South African version of a BBQ - but with actual fire and real meat: not burgers). During the week, we have 3 preteens to juggle. Excuses excuses, I know..... I really need to work on my plucking skills as I just kind of strum through everything, and thats super lazy. I have an electric guitar that is waiting for me to improve these skills and I know there's no point in taking it out of it's case if I haven't at least attempted to improve on my classical guitar. I think I'm also trying to learn way too many songs at the same time, as well as create original content. I do, thank heavens, have a very patient and talented friend who is currently backing my vocals with his incredible guitar skills, so that takes a lot of the pressure off, but currently, I can't perform alone, which means if he's not available, I can't play live.

I'm guilty of not using a metronome. It is something I need to work on improving. There are always things we can do better.

Rock on!

without no doubt metronome is the most important thing. I can make some videos about how to practice and give some good excersice, Do you suggest it ?

Tutorials could be good. Feel free to re-post in the Guitar Community. I hope we can build more interest around guitar.

!BEER

Maybe I post it originaly in Guitar Community,

Why dont you try to promote the community more?

I have promoted it in some of my posts, but it's one of many things I have going on.

If you make me the guitar community admin, I can try to introduce this community in Hive. It would be great if this community could be used as a specialized reference for the guitar instrument. We can get better together. what do you think?

I don't actually have the keys to change who the admins are and I don't see you need that anyway. It's a small community and we can see how it goes. If necessary we can start a new one.

Wasn't that a good offer?

Hey @arashthr, here is a little bit of BEER from @steevc for you. Enjoy it!
