Hoy les hablaré un poco sobre una de las obras más famosas, importantes e interesantes de mi instrumento como lo son estos 6 estudios. Y como siempre, también traerles mi interpretación.
Today I will tell you a little about one of the most famous, important and interesting musical works of my instrument, just like these 6 etudes. And as always, I brought to you my performance.

Gilles Silvestrini es un oboísta y compositor francés que escribió este primer libro de estudios para oboe solo en 1997, basándose en pinturas de los artistas Claude Monet, Camille Pissaro, Auguste Renoir, Eugène Boudin y Edouard Manet. Cada estudio tiene el nombre de la pintura a la que hace referencia, y busca a través de su música hacer que estos dos maravillosos artes se unan y expresen una misma idea. Aquí podrán apreciar cada una de estas increíbles pinturas:
Gilles Silvestrini is a french oboist and composer who wrote this first book of etudes to oboe solo in 1997, based on paintings by the artists Claude Monet, Camille Pissaro, Auguste Renoir, Eugène Boudin and Edouard Manet. Each etude has the name of the painting that refers to it, and he searches through his music bringing these two arts together and these express the same idea. Here you can appreciate each of these incredible paintings:
I - "Hôtel des Roches noires á Trouville" Claude Monet (1870)
II - "Potager et arbres en fleurs
Printemps, Pontoise" Camille Pissaro (1877)
III - "Boulevard des Capucines" Claude Monet (1873)
IV - "Sentier dans les bois" Auguste Renoir (1874)
V - "Scéne de plage - Ciel d'orage" Eugène Boudin (1864)
VI - "Le ballet espagnol" Edouard Manet (1862)
En esta ocasión yo interpreté el estudio número 5 "Scène de plage - Ciel d'orage", que significa escena de playa - cielo tormentoso" uno de mis favoritos y también, a mi parecer, el mas complejo técnicamente.
That time I performed the etude N 5 "Scène de plage - Ciel d'orage", which means escene of beach - stormy sky" one of my favorite ones and also, in my opinion, the most complex technically.
Para mi este cuadro representa perfectamente el mar. El cielo augura una tormenta y hay muchas olas que cada vez son más grandes. Silvestrini nos muestra como pasa de la calma a la tormenta y luego nuevamente a la calma perfectamente.
For me, this painting represents perfectly the sea. The sky augurs a storm and there are lots of waves that are bigger every time. Silvestrini shows us how it passes from the calm to the storm and then to the calm again perfectly.
La obra en sí no tiene silencios o pausas, lo que para mi tiene mucho sentido ya que no hay olas que paren bruscamente. Por lo que el intérprete debe disimular muy bien antes de respirar en los 2 pequeños espacios que hay entre los temas.
The piece itself does not have rest or pauses, which has many sense for me because there are not waves stopping abruptly. So the performer must hide very well before breathing in 2 little spaces between both themes.

Estos estudios son requisito de admisión en muchos de los conservatorios más prestigiosos del mundo dado a su gran nivel complejidad y hoy día que me encuentro sin poder tocar con mi orquesta, con mi quinteto, sin poder hacer recitales o conciertos solistas por las razones que todos conocemos del virus, decidí estudiar esta y muchas de las obras más complejas e importantes del instrumento para al terminar todo ser un mucho mejor oboísta.
These etudes are an admission requirement in some of the most prestigious conservatories around the world due to its great level of complex, and these day that I find myself not being able to play with my orchestra or my quintet, not being able to make recitals or soloists concerts for the reasons that all of us know about the virus, I decided to practice this one and many of the most complex and important pieces of my instrument to finish this situation being a better oboist.
