[ENG/ESP] My Spotify wrapped 2025

Every year, during the first week of December, the Spotify app gives us our annual ‘wrapped,’ which is nothing more than a statistical summary of our musical year, broken down by genre, songs, artists, and minutes played. I usually have an idea of who my artists will be because I check my statistics more or less weekly, and well, you always know what you listen to, but it's very interesting to see it on paper with the exact data. Another unique feature of this wrapped is that it is not only individual but also presents us with global statistics on what people listened to during the year. In this case, the most listened to artist was Bad Bunny, who is the first person to hold this title four times.

Todos los años, la primera semana de diciembre la aplicación Spotify nos da nuestro "wrapped" anual, que no es más que un resumen estadístico de como fue nuestro año musical, disgregando por géneros, canciones, artistas y minutos reproducidos. Generalmente tengo una idea de quienes seran mis artistas porque más o menos semanalmente miro mis estadísticas y bueno uno sabe siempre sabe que escucha pero es muy interesante verlo en papel con los datos exactos. Otra particularidad de este wrapped es que no solo es individual sino nos presenta una estadística global de lo que escucharon las personas en el año, en este caso el artista más escuchado fue Bad Bunny, quien es es la primera persona en tener 4 veces este título.

I knew that this year Benito and Taylor were going to compete for the top spot on my lists, and indeed they did, with Taylor being my most listened to artist overall, but it was Bad Bunny who took over my top 5 songs, with 3 from his latest album ‘Debí tirar más fotos’ (I Should Have Taken More Photos). This album is incredible, I honestly think it has a chance to win the Grammy for Album of the Year, having already swept the Latin Grammys. New additions to these top lists: Karol G and Chappell Roan. I was never a big fan of the Colombian singer, but I really liked Tropicoqueta. I was a little late to the party, but I ended up falling in love with the songs by the Pink Pony Club singer. And well, Sabrina Carpenter is here to stay. She entered the top list last year and remained there, particularly with Busy el man. I listened to that song too many times this year.

Another interesting fact is that I listened to 16,161 minutes of music on Spotify this year, which is equivalent to 11 days, and I was surprised that it's a fairly low number compared to other people. I don't know how they do it because I feel like I'm always listening to music, but surprisingly, it seems that's not the case.

In terms of genre, the genre I listened to the most was ‘urban pop’. I guess that's because of all those songs by artists like Bad Bunny, Beele, Feid and Karol G, which aren't completely reggaeton or trap, but you can't classify them entirely as
pop either.

Yo sabía que este año Benito y Taylor se iban a disputar el top uno de mis listas y en efecto lo hicieron, siendo Taylor mi artista más escuchada en la general, pero fue Bad Bunny quien se apoderó de mi top 5 de canciones, con 3 de su último álbum "Debí tirar más fotos", y es que este álbum es increíble, yo honestamente creo que tiene opción a ganar el Grammy a álbum del año, ya habiendo arrasado con los Grammys latinos. Inclusiones nuevas a estos tops: Karol G y Chappell Roan, nunca fui muy fan de la colombiana pero Tropicoqueta me gustó mucho y llegue un poco tarde a la fiesta pero terminé encariñandome con las canciones de la cantante de Pink pony club y bueno, Sabrina Carpenter llegó para quedarse, el año pasado entro al top y este se mantuvo particularmente con "Busy el man" escuché demasiadas veces esa canción este año.
Otra particularidad es que escuché 16.161 minutos de música en Spotify este año, lo que equivale a 11 días y he quedado sorprendida de que es una cifra bastante baja comparada con otras de otras personas, no sé cómo lo hacen porque según yo siempre estoy escuchando música pero sorpresivamente, parece que no es así.
Con respecto a género, mi género más escuchado fue "Pop urbano", supongo que es por todas esas canciones de artistas como Bad Bunny, Beele, Feid, Karol G que no son completamente reggeatón o trap pero tampoco puedes clasificarlas enteramente como pop.

In addition to that, Spotify always adds something distinctive. Last year, it indicated something like your musical profile, and this year it includes that and something that really caught my attention, which is ‘musical age.’ The algorithm gives you an approximate age based on what you listen to. In my case, it gave me 33, and I'm 31, so I think I listen to music associated with what all millennials listen to. I saw some that were quite a bit higher, especially when the person listened to merengue or Mexican corridos like Vicente Fernández, ha ha ha!

Además de que, Spotify siempre agrega algo distintivo, el año pasado indicaba algo como que perfil musical tenías y este año incluyo eso y algo que me llamó mucho la atención qué es "la edad musical", el algoritmo arroja una edad aproximada de "tu edad" basado en lo que escuchas, en mi caso arrojo 33 y yo tengo 31, así que creo que escucho música asociada con lo que escuchamos todos los millenialls. Vi algunos bastante más altos, sobretodo cuando la persona escuchaba merengue o corridos mexicanos como Vicente Fernández jajaja!

So, this was a brief summary of how I experienced my year in music. This is one of the things I like most about the end of the year, as silly as it may sound.
