The new phase of Billie Eilish brings her freedom

Since Billie Eilish, a 19-year-old American singer and songwriter, platinum-plated her hair earlier this year, and we already imagine that a new era was about to come. Her old and striking look with green hair roots and dark tips gave his goodbye. But what we weren't expecting is that her style (and even her way of expressing herself) was about to change.

Billie, since the beginning of her success, was constantly seen wearing baggy clothes, a style popularized by the black movement of the 90s, within hip-hop, because oversized clothes were used, becoming loose on the body. In an interview with Dazed magazine , Billie reveals why she decided to start wearing baggy clothes. In addition to not wanting to be sexualized - which in fact happened when Billie was photographed by paparazzi wearing a tank top -, Billie also didn't like her body. She even ignored it when she looked in the mirror after so long without wanting to see herself. And in that same interview, Billie commented on wanting to be free to choose what she wants to wear when she wants to. Despite being recognized for wearing baggy clothes, she never wanted it to define her. And if she ever wanted to wear tighter clothes, she would just do it.

And this day it has come.

The new June cover of British Vogue, brings Billie in a totally different look from what we were used to seeing her: lingerie, corset, and a classic pin-up style. Billie has given us a lot of empowerment and self-assurance. She talks about the hypocrisy in which we women live, when judged by the amount of clothes we wear, how much we show our skin. And that nobody has the right to judge that.

Billie also commented that the change in her hair color also made her feel more woman and confident. Photographed by Craig McDean, with the support of a fantastic art direction team, Billie felt supported and motivated to reveal this new phase to us, wearing clothes exclusively made for her from brands like Burberry, Valentino, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Balmain and Dolce & Gabbana.

It is important to note that Billie has not changed her look due to aesthetic pressure, or comparisons with other artists, but because she wants to rebel against those opinions imposed by society, that the clothes you wear are not able to take away their value . And respect is all we need.

I am extremely happy that Billie entered this approval process, because even though she found her style with baggy clothes iconic, inside these baggy clothes there was a woman trying to break free, and there is nothing better than making peace with her own body. I hope this new phase will bring her many discoveries, empowerment, self-love, security, and of course, incredible music!

I hope you liked!
