It wasn’t a lazy Saturday as I went to Ogikubo at noon time for my 3rd hot yoga class. It’s my 1st time in this branch though so I had to be early to look for it. I wasn’t as excited as the first 2 and in fact I was forcing myself to not cancel the class and attend it diligently. I told myself if I won’t do this, nothing will happen to me and my 2025 fitness goal will be gone.
I didn’t use the main road, and I don’t know why. Probably because Google Maps pointed me to the shortcuts on these alleys.
The alleys were almost empty and I was admiring how beautiful they were in their own way, so authentic, so Japan. Then I realized I think I shouldn’t have been passing here when I saw some store names like girls bar and the likes.
I figured these alleys would be lively at night. Some izakayas (Japanese pubs) were around here. Seems like some stores were opened for lunch time since I saw one guy standing outside the store, but I am not really sure. Day drinking? Why not. Start early on a Saturday and end early on a Sunday? 😅
I reached my destination - the hot yoga branch in Ogikubo. It was on the 3rd floor of a building on the main street. I almost got lost as I was amazed by the alleys that I already passed the yoga place. 😅 When I go to new places, I don’t usually check Google Maps from time to time, and just let myself be immersed by the view.
It was a hot yoga class. My session for today is the Relax Yoga, good for beginners like me. Since I was early, earlier than the check in time actually that I had to wait for 2 minutes to enter, I was able to find a good spot in the room. It was almost by the door so in between the class, when the instructor opens the door for us to breathe, I could relax a bit from the heat. Totally different from the main branch I’ve been going to, where I would always be in the middle of the room and not feel the air from outside during breaks.
It was a nice class. I was able to finish it without me having another incident, just like my 2nd session. I’ve learned the hard way. I prepared myself well after that. I took all the advices I got from my previous post and the advices I got from the instructors - light meals before class and make my body use to moving again so exercise.
Of course I still couldn’t complete difficult poses, and even find them hard to memorize all but I’ve been trying my best - well not to the point that I would overdo myself. In between breaks, I would also smell my powerful liniments so it helped me. 😅
I decided not to take a shower in the yoga place after and to take a nice soak in the bath at home so after the class, I was roaming near the train station.
I was surprised to find a shop here that sells meat on one side and on the other side were katsu (deep fried) meats. Nice business. A thought crossed my mind to buy lunch there but I just had my yoga class and deep fried food would ruin it no? In the end I continued walking away.
The small road near the train station wasn’t as busy as I thought it would be. I also thought on this side there would be more shops but I’ve only seen real estate shops here. Some food shops were in sight, but it’s just the same shops near my home. If I’d get from here, I’ll just get them near home.
Just as I was about to head home, an ad like this in the bus station caught my attention. Animation museum in this city! I surely love to visit it next time! Not today - I need to go home and enjoy my weekend at home. Nice bath, 🛁 with good company.
How was your weekend?

Awesome! U managed to do it this time!
Yeah I did it! I'm so happy and relieved whew!
Sounds like a nice day of exercise. I have never tried yoga and don't think I could manage most of the stances and poses. Keep up the good work and stay focused on your goal. Love the pics. You are right, they are very Japan.
I'm also not yet perfect in poses but if I keep trying, I'm sure I'll get them done perfectly~
I am sure you will with practice over time.
Thank you for the kind words! I'm so deeply touched~

I saw matsuya my favorite restaurant because of cheap food 😄
Hahahaha I remember the times when I don't have enough money and not yet payday, I'm also clinging to Matsuya whenever my friends and I want to eat out
I missed this post, but I'm glad to read it went well, compared to the previous one.
Please don't give up! It may be difficult now, but it becomes easier in time, your body and mind gets used to it.
Good luck and keep us posted! 💚
Thank you @erikah! You've been very helpful! Yes, I won't give up! I just started, and it's kinda embarrassing to give up right away! 😅
It's not about the embarrassment, but about your goals! I know from experience, that it is easy to give up and enjoy a bit of laziness, but it feels 100 times better to accomplish something that seems impossible or very hard. Plus it teaches you discipline.
