아침에도 걷고 저녁에도 걷는다. 오늘은 조금 늦게 산책을 나갔다. 11시 30분에 나가서 1시 30분에 돌아왔다. 귀에는 이어폰을 꽂고 강의를 들으며 걷는다. 강사의 설명은 머릿속을 지나간다. 나는 굳이 기억하려고 하지 않는다. 나의 뇌는 모든 것을 기억하지 못한다. 강의를 들었다는 것에 만족한다. 듣고 잊어버리더라도 괜찮다. 다시 듣고 다시 들으면 언젠가는 기억에 남을 것이다.
산책이 끝날 즈음에 철봉에 매달렸다. 조금씩 팔과 어깨의 근육을 회복시키기 위해서다. 왼쪽 어깨에서 통증이 느껴진다.
철봉 위에 새 한 마리가 앉아 쉬고 있다. 항상 저 자리에서 새는 자리를 잡는다. 가까이 가도 달아나지 않는다. 카메라를 꺼내 사진을 찍었다. 한동안 나를 보다가 불안함을 느꼈는지 날아가 버렸다.
