Go figure. Actifit says I didn't post today but I did. Guess I get a second chance to finish the days post.
Now I posted a lot of pictures about breakfast so I only post one more.
They seriously had an ice cream bar at the breakfast buffet. Wow.
Anyways after breakfast I made a post to the Hive Learners. After that it was off to the pool.
My wife and I were batting a volleyball over a net for fun. We invited another couple Aoi and Takuya from Japan. Had lots of fun together even though their English wasn't good and my Japanese was worse.
Still lots of fun and exercise.
After that time to explore the city. Now u thought I was in cebu but it seems I'm in lapu lapu and we got to see the Mactan shrine. However to get there I needed to take a jeepney. Cebu jeepney are very small so my wife was laughing at me for not fitting.
But the shrine was cool. It's where the Filipino defeated colonial invaders. Namely Magellan.
Then it was souvenir shopping.
And she did one thing I really don't like. She haggled on the price. Now I know it is accepted practice to haggle with vendors like these but...
The handbags here are p200 and at the hotel they were p6200. 31x the pride at the resort. Yes the ones at the resort are nice but still... the vendors here couldn't break a P1000 bill. They were not wealthy and my wife is trying to take what little profit they get from them. Yet she had no issues paying full price for an expensive meal at the hotel. Grr... that annoys me. It should be the other way around. So everything you can to take money from the rich corporations so you can happily pay the money to the poor street vendor.
Anyways...
After that we were off to a new megaworld project. Mostly because we needed to shop at Watsons (a pharmacy) for medication for my sister. While there we got to look at a condo on pre-sale for P9 million for studio unit.
The unit comes with impressive views and beach front access.
And truth be told I can see why people would buy. However I already have property in the Philippines and cebu is a long way from family. Pretty sure we will pass.
After that it was heading to the Robinsons. We picked up drinks and snacks because the mini bar is so expensive. 300ml cola for p175 at Robinsons 1500ml cola for p62. Doing the math.. 5x as much to drink at 1/3rd the price.
Result: avoid the mini bar
We also picked up fried rice with pork for P80 and Shao pao for P40 each. Result: dinner for P120 that looked like this.
Now the hotel did have a nice dinner menu but for P3,200 per person I figured I'd spend way less money.
On the nice side they did have a welcome gift for me at the hotel.
A freel drink.
And a yummy snack platter.
Overall very enjoyable.
But by this time I was getting tired. So head to the room, have a shower, post, pray then head to bed.
Tomorrow will start early with another trip to the gym, more buffet breakfast and then a city tour.
Looking forward to it
And thanks for doing by.
Thanks for dropping in
Until tomorrow

Been to Mactan Shrine and the vendors inside are very nice people.. my mom still loves the handmade slippers we got her. Haha haggling is very normal for Filipinos but we didn't do it when we went there. But got offered a few bracelets as freebies 😁
Of course everyone haggle. I do too but.... I know the prices before I go... or at least close. If the price is fair. Don't haggle. These aren't rich people, just people trying to make a wage for themselves and family. If the price is too high walk away. I hate dealing with thieves. If the price is a little inflated (because I'm a foreigner then I haggle because I like a fair price)
Just my thoughts.
But haggling from someone trying to make a fair wage seems like I'm stealing from someone less fortunate which seems just wrong.
It looks beautiful there! Not sure how the pricing is to USD but it sort of sounds expensive.
Good job with your 5110 @actifit steps for the day. Take care and enjoy your trip!
Compare to the USA it is quite affordable..... for what you get.
I would put it around $210 USD nightly. Not cheap by any stretch but for oceanfront with really nice amenities not bad at all.
Enjoy your time there!
