From Yogyakarta to neighboring Solo. It was also very busy during the current holiday season. Luckily, the day was a bit overcast, so spending time outdoors was a good idea.
Visiting iconic sites in Surakarta/Solo. First, I went to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Solo.

If you've been to Abu Dhabi, you're likely familiar with the architectural splendor of this mosque. In fact, the mosque I visited was a replica of the mosque in Abu Dhabi.

This mosque was a friendship gift from the President of Abu Dhabi to Indonesia. Although not as large as the original, it could be considered a replica. The design is very similar! The only difference is the size, in my opinion.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Solo is currently a tourist destination. Visitors, and I in particular, enjoyed the splendor of this mosque.

The distinctive curves are beautiful and the colors are subdued.

It was a serene experience for me, despite the hot weather, but I still managed to enjoy the tour.
After walking around the expansive mosque area, I went to another iconic area: the park located on the dam, still close to the mosque.

My original plan was to enjoy the sunset. But the day didn't cooperate. Cloudy.

No problem. You can sit around this park, too, don't worry, there are plenty of street food vendors nearby. The sky still looks beautiful. Not bad. There's still some twilight in the sky, not all skies are pale.
That evening, I went straight to the mall and bought some delicious bread that wasn't available around the house.

There's a wide selection of bread here that could also be gifts or souvenirs for Christmas and New Year.

I didn't go home straight away; I planned to wait until after New Year's. There were fireworks there, hopefully, but they weren't canceled.
Meanwhile, the city lights were visible from the mall parking lot after I headed to the prayer room.
At the edge of the food court, I enjoyed the night view. Don't worry, there's a safety barrier.

May we start the year filled with happiness, success, and of course, health.
Thank you for reading my blog. Greetings from Indonesia.
All photos I took using my phone camera.
