The day felt like a soggy handshake, wet, cold, and unwelcome. Outside, it was miserably gray, with a biting wind that made the already chilly air feel sharper. I braved a quick morning walk along the Spree, where the damp paths and mud clung stubbornly to my boots. The weather, unforgiving and unkind, had its say, so I kept the walk brief. Later, I caught up with an old friend, and we sought warmth and laughter instead. We ended up at a show by a THE living Berlin cartoon & comedy legend FIL, whose sharp wit and effortless charm had the whole room roaring. Haven’t seen him and his pal Sharky for a long time. A greta evening of laugh therapy. For a while, the dreariness of the day melted away in the glow of shared humor and good company. Sometimes, when the world outside turns its back on you, finding joy indoors feels like a quiet rebellion.
