The moon hung large and bright in the early morning sky as I wandered through the Charlottenburg Palace gardens. Its presence framed the sculptures on the north facade. I couldn’t help but notice a crow perched defiantly on one of the statues, a surprise guest in this already great scene for a few photos. Despite September’s arrival, fall hadn’t yet stolen the warmth from the air, leaving the morning surprisingly mild. I stopped to do some breathing exercises, letting the stillness around me sink in, and took a few moments for meditation. It was a perfect start to the day.
