My friend and I played a difficult course in the woods today. I was really struggling at first so my friend suggested we restart and call the first few holes a warm up. I had taken a seven on a par three island hole. At first I wasn't sure about restarting but then I thought why not? It was a casual round and we were both just out having some fun.
The second time through the first three holes we both did much better. We both birdied the island hole where we had taken a five and a seven the first time through.
My friend did pretty well on the wooded part of the course but struggled a bit in the open field area. The holes there are pretty long for par threes and there are many out of bounds areas marked in the grass that make things more difficult. I managed to play better and not throw out of bounds as much today but I often struggle with this part of the course as well.
It was fun to be out there playing disc golf with my friend but this morning was rather stressful for me. I need to bump up my travel plans and head out to Colorado again the day after tomorrow.
I'm playing with my friend again in the morning. It will be fun to get another round of disc golf in before I have to head out.
One of those disc golf holes that you definitely don't want to finish too far to the left on:
There are some trees to the right blocking the path to the basket. An overstable disc with a forehand throw works best if your throwing with your right hand.

Is the river in your area?
Yes it is just south of where I live.
Oooh The river is used for farmers' needs such as watering their plants.
this must be a very beautiful moment to be able to play with your friends while you practice
I certainly enjoy it a lot. It keeps me exercising and gives me something enjoyable to do with friends.
You have amazing friends
Wouldn't it be nice if you could get a "start over" in everything in life if you wanted ?
I think that would be really nice. Maybe it will happen if technology keeps advancing.

Glad to read that you really enjoyed playing with your friends today in forest spots, rivers, green grass making beautiful and amazing natural scenery.
Hope the trip to Colorado goes as smoothly as usual and don't forget to bring some discs to play there if the weather is nice it will be fun too with friends there.
Enjoy your day there!
Thank you! I do hope that I will find the time to get out on the disc golf course but I'm not sure about how things will go.
Playing by the river seems like a lot of fun to me. But if the disc is thrown away, it will be difficult to find, right?
If the disc goes in the river it is usually lost. I've not throw one in this particular river but have lost a few in rivers before. Sometimes you will get them back if the water floods and washes them ashore and someone finds them.
A 7? 😵😵💫🤯😬🤮.. ouch. That would mean smoking a blunt before throwing the next disc.. attitude adjustment
I've actually done worse on that hole if you can believe that. If I get it there off the tee it is usually a birdie. If not problems can happen. It is a fun island hole but there can be issues - those out of bounds points add up fast.
Hey @Partytrout is in Littleton.. he loves disc golf if you're looking for casual competition.. he smokes like a broke stove too..
I'm taking my discs along but I'm not sure if I'm going to get a chance to play this time. It is a difficult situation.
it's really a very beautiful scenery and very natural and I really like it.
Interesting activity, does a golf ball ever fall into a river.
It is a disc that you throw instead of a golf ball. It does go into the river occasionally although I personally have not put one in this particular river.
Wow beautiful capture.
The price of fuel for traveling will stress me out as I am on the road now much like you are. The price of diesel is around 5.40/gallon which really adds to the overall cost of the trip!
It is a tough time to be travelling it is very expensive now. I'm a bit rushed on this trip too. If it were not for the dog I would be flying.
Very glad to hear that you enjoy playing with your friend today in the woods and best wishes for traveling to Colorado again. Photo is so awesome and i think weather is very pleasant as seen in photo. Stay fit and Stay Blessed.
