We played a couple of rounds of eighteen basket disc golf today. My son won both rounds. I was trying to learn my new replacement discs for my lost Sword disc and missed a lot of my lines.
It is kind of hard to learn a new disc. It takes a lot of throws to get the feel for how it it going to fly in a variety of situations. I like both of my new discs a lot but the Pharoah disc is a bit understable. The plastic is very gummy and tends to deflect a lot when I grip it. I think that makes it even more understable when I crush it really hard. It does fly a long way if I throw it right but I turned it pretty badly today and ended with a bogey on a hole I can usually par with a disc I know better.
The Kona Panis signature Emperor is really nice. The stability is about where I like it for a main driver disc. I have yet to learn what power and angles to put it on for the best throw. It ended up hyzering out on me early on one hole and we both had to yell, "FORE!" at a couple of people who were lounging around on the course. They knew we were throwing so it worked out fine and they were not bothered by it.
My son almost lost a disc on the more difficult course that we played today. I ended up finding a DX Wraith while I was helping him look for it. I called the owner and he said I could have it. I like the Wraith disc and they usually fly very much like the Sword disc that I lost. I have not thrown this one yet but I think it will probably be a lot more understable than I'm going to like because of the plastic type and 166 gram wieght. I'll have to try it out tomorrow.
I looked for my lost Sword disc again and ended up finding someone's lost Kantana disc. I called the number on it and the owner was very excited to get it back. Apparently it had been a number of months that it was gone. I hide it out on the other course we were playing so he should be able to get it tomorrow. Maybe someday I will get my lost Sword disc back - my name and number are on it.

That is pretty good to find something lost for so long.
A lot of discs seem to get lost in around the same areas. The vegetation changes some and sometimes they are easier to find a later date. Sometimes they fall out of trees months later. It is kind of fun to find them.
