It's been a while since I last posted on Actifit.
November was a month when things didn’t go as planned, partly because my kids kept getting sick. Before I knew it, I’d only posted on Hive twice last month… Once I break the habit of posting, I really struggle to get back into it — that’s just how I am😭
Now, about my eldest son’s impetigo — we’ve been dealing with for so long — yesterday we went to the dermatologist and finally heard the words, “The fungus is gone, so he’s all clear!” It started at the tips of his toes, then spread to his shins, forehead, and finally his thighs. He even had a drug rash from the antibiotics, and we were at our wits’ end.
It seems the topical medication they switched him to last time finally worked, and he’s starting to heal. What a relief.
The weather was nice yesterday, so I walked with my second son to the shopping mall near the station.
He’s in first grade now, but lately one of his close friends has been doing a lot of extracurricular activities and studying, and maybe because of that influence, my son has been wanting to try all sorts of things these past few months. That friend is even studying English, apparently…
My son has been swimming since kindergarten, and since July this year he’s been going to Kumon for penmanship classes. Personally, I think he’s doing more than enough activities already.
But maybe he doesn’t want to lose to his friend — he suddenly said, “I want to study English.” So I thought I’d at least buy him a simple workbook for elementary students, and that’s why we headed to the bookstore in the mall.
But he completely ignored the colorful workbooks for toddlers and elementary kids, went straight to the middle school section, picked up a practice book, and started flipping through it. In the end, the one he chose was a workbook aligned with the first-year middle school curriculum… Is he actually going to do it? 😅 I wasn’t even sure he could read the kanji in the questions…
But I know that if I forced him to get something for younger kids, he absolutely wouldn’t touch it. So, we ended up buying the middle school-level workbook and heading home.
The sun was out, but the wind felt cool and refreshing — perfect for walking. My second son has a bit of a cough again today, which worries me, but I really hope the whole family stays healthy through December.
I walked a lot — almost reached 9,000 steps!

You have to be patient with kids. I hope that someday he decides to pick up the book and learn the language.
I remembered your post saying that your son's eyes were swollen and it was really tough.
Yes, I really hope he’ll start studying ☺️
Those were very difficult days, but fortunately he got through it without any lasting effects.
