My holiday time has been rather stationary. I was hoping for daily walks with dad and occasional run at least once a week and I managed to stick to my Friday runs, but daily walks didn’t really happen. Not every day at least. Either I stay in bed for way too long or go shopping or deal with other errands/appointments and by the time I’m done it’s dark or rainy or I just don’t fancy going outside.
Yesterday however we braved it out for an hour walk, despite the rain. Both, dad and I put on our rain jackets and went outside to catch some fresh air.
It was already dark and the rain seem to have paused for a little while, but once we were about half way through our planned walk it started to rain more and the icy wind was pushing the raindrops into our faces with a punch that we could feel quite heavily.
There is something satisfying in venturing out for an exercise in conditions like yesterday though. It’s kind of practicing being exposed to the challenge in rather safe way.
Just like in the book I am currently reading, a walk like yesterday was a great way of practicing to stay open while facing adversity. Usually my dad is walking faster than me and I sometimes moan a little that one body part or another is starting to ache, but yesterday it was me who picked up the tempo and dad already spent over an hour at the gym, so it was his time to moan a little about his shins 😉
Once we walked past the chapel at the cemetery we knew we’ve completed majority of our walk and our hearts were pumping and we felt rather warm despite the rain, which btw on this last stretch of the walk was already blowing us forward rather than in our faces.
A very last heap of snow was still there over a week after it was snowing. The temperatures are well above the zero already, but it managed to stay here, covered from the sun, by the shade of the forest.
We came back home and I decided to skip the supper, only drank half a cup of my home made kefir. My deteriorating way of eating has shown some ugly effects in a form of a few hives and swollen body parts, so I need to make sure to get back on the healthy road.
Until next walk 💙

Walk; It is truly the most beneficial exercise for the body. I even read somewhere: "Human anatomy was created for walking." I also try to take 20,000 steps a day. I try to do most of my daily work standing. My phone conversations generally take place while standing around. Thank you for your sharing, it motivated me again. Keep exercising... 👍
20k is a very good amount of steps to aim for! My lifestyle is a little less active than this, but 10k is something I manage to achieve most days 😁

It's to get out and get the walking in. Well you haven't been doing it as much as you like but you decided to go despite the rainy conditions. That's a good step forward rather than just abandoning it.
Just a glimpse of snow leftover from days before eh?Now the weather forecast has changed here now, we may get snow on Christmas now. Only a weatherman can stay employed by not being very accurate at his job, haha. I'm guessing it will be a rainy Christmas day here maybe I should be a weatherman.
Take care, be safe and be the best you 😊 !HUG
I feel the same about the weatherman Bob! I woke up this morning to white roofs of the cars as it was snowing at night and the temperatures will drop below zero again tonight!
Really can’t catch up with this changing weather. And they say England is bad 😂 It will be cooler only for 2 night though and warmer for Christmas day again… I think 🤔

I wish my own Dad is alive too, I could have spend hours with him either playing or exercising.
Congrats for having and enjoying your father.
It's relevant to have a walk for our body. Keep it up for body built
I had a very challenging relationship with my dad since my childhood, but I’m happy we managed to rebuild it just in time to still enjoy our time together.
Sorry to hear about your dad no longer being here. Especially around this time of the year we tends to think more about lost family members. I hope you still have others around who you can still enjoy your time with 🥰
Thank you for stopping by and sharing on threads 💙
