Is it Wednesday?……My week will be pleasantly messed up because my doc is on vacation. That made today a ‘me, myself and I’ day, but I wasn’t alone for long.
I spent my first 2 hours on the phone with 2 different insurance companies. One had denied 4 claims on 4 patients stating the doc’s NPI number was incorrect. Well…..as I told the rep, we’ve been seeing patients with this insurance for well over 7 years and that the NPI number is the same as it’s been all that time that we’ve been submitting claims! The rep said she’d get them resubmitted with notes and hopefully all will go well.
The second insurance company has been sending EOB’s with positive and negative amounts for patients, not paying the correct amount as per contract AND as if that’s not enough, having sometimes a third EOB entry for a patient with another amount entirely on it! I can’t reconcile anything. Supposedly now that I’ve talked with them and they found errors in their software creating the issues, it’s been fixed and they are resubmitting those claims affected. Pardon me if I’m skeptical!🧐
Knowing I’d be opening up, I stopped the claims work to move on to orders left from the last time I was in office. I had a busy day and will have another tomorrow.
