Something screwy happened to my actifit posts, I think for Wednesday's post, I might have accidentally submitted as today instead of posting for yesterday as I typically do. Since I'm out on many nights past midnight (like tonight), it just doesn't make sense for me to try and get these in the day of.
But here I am submitting my post before walking all my steps, and I might as well make this report for Friday and Saturday so nobody misses any of the action. Big things are happening in Brooklyn this weekend, like the world club premiere of Waxtroda, with the tour shirt gracing the cover picture of this two-day report.
Friday started at midnight, and Shingo Nakamura was just hopping on the decks for a magical 3 hour sets. It was his first time playing in NYC in 13 years, and he made the most of the opportunity. The vibe felt right all night as people dancing freely with most phones tucked away. His music was beautifully beautifully calming yet undeniably danceable. I had a blast and scurried home as quickly as I could.
Friday was a much needed half day, and my students did pretty well on their ratio quiz. We finished with an hour-long assembly for Latin History Month, and our students slayed! The dance routine and fashion show were my favorite!
I got home already pushing 15K steps, and had a quick snack before a fat nap! Friday night's headliner was the world premiere club show of Waxtroda, a 4-hour back-to-back set from Wax Motif and Matroda. Moon Lvnding got press badges for the show, so we shot some sweet footage and had a great time dancing the night away behind the DJ booth. Shame all I shot were videos!
I got a decent night sleep and woke up to a bunch of quiet time. From 10am to 4pm we had apartment quiet time, so after a little time in the sun on the patio, I got my Splinterlands brawls set and did some lesson planning.
No rest for the weary, Saturday night brought another exclusive artist collaboration to The Brooklyn Mirage. NYC was one of a few choice markets that got blessed with an LSZee show, a project combining LSDREAM and CloZee. These tickets have been booked for months and will be the third time to see them we see them perform since their world debut at Electric Forest this summer.
For now, we're kicking it at Pirate Studios, where my buddies renting 4 hours of DJ decks to pregame for the bass show tonight. It's only a few blocks over to the club from here, so I'll finally be able to get some steps in hahaha.
The dancing definitely does a body good, but with the cooler weather, my partner is starting to insist on more Ubers, cutting down on my neighborhood steps. Still 90 minutes left in my night, I guess I might as well ring up as many steps as I can!
