A very stressful week is over 🙏 - My Actifit Report Card: September 28 2024

Hey dear actifitters and readers,

a very challenging week is behind me. I made many kilometres on the highway and had many many things to get sorted. I'll write about some points in this weekly recap.

I got a phone call last week by my father and the hospitals social worker. Things are looking complicated.

My father needs help to get his life managed. He is ill in some mental way and not able to handle official letters and stuff like that.

I started a trip to visit my parents on Sunday afternoon. It took my five hours on the highway and arrived there in the evening.

On Monday I went to an appointment in the hospital to talk to social workers and psychologists.

And things couldn't be much more complicated. As he didn't open letters from his landlord and other officials he is about to loose his flat.

After this appointment I started to organize help and called many people to get an impression about the whole picture.

Things are really complicated. But I got help from the local government. The will keep an eye on the situation with his flat and willing to support me to rent a new flat if necessary. That lowers the pressure on me in many ways.

And I'm very thankful for everything they will do for him. 🙏

On Tuesday I had a job related appointment two hours away from my parents.

It was a nice drive and I had a delicious coffee at Cafe Rondo.
The appointment went well and I headed back home to meet my cousin who is supporting me with help for my mum. We had a nice talk and installed some features to help her in daily life.

On Wednesday I did some work for my job in the morning. In the afternoon I had to empty one of this garages. There are many things my father collected to maybe use them in the future. Unfortunately I guess he won't be able to use them.

It hurts to throw all the stuff away. But we're short of time and can't handle it.

At least there was one happy event this week. On Friday (I was traveling back home in the night from Thursday to Friday) my partner finished her doctor thesis and we went to university to officially hand the thesis to the examination office.

Today is already Sunday and a lot of things have to be done the next days. I really hope to get them all managed.
