Left just in time, a few dishes on the side! But arrived at the station with ten minutes to spare, you wouldn't want any longer on that forlorn place with the wind whistling down those long straight platforms. They're probably a marvel of engineering but they mostly look jerry built.
Well, it seems that jerry built originated in Liverpool in the Mercury in 1832 and later 1863 and was included in the Lansdale Glossary of 1869 "slightly or unsubstantially built".
Anyway, when you get to St Pancras you walk miles to reach the Victoria Line, one stop to Euston. You'd probably walk less going on foot along the Euston Road. But as it is I've notched up over 10k steps.
It's Black Friday, so I allowed an hour to pick up one or two regular items and a cup of tea from Greggs as I was parched (£1.35 if you must know) as I made my way onto the Central Line and out to Waterloo. Walked past my old house, but couldn't have a good nosey as there were contractors unloading outside. I did notice the tongue and groove ceiling is still in the small bedroom over the front door, that was one of my innovations to cover polystyrene tiles. Still looks classy.
Finally made it to the apartment then out for a meal, £23 including wine, can't complain. Back via the garage to pick up milk and tea bags.
Definitely a day well done!
Oh, that's the entrance/exit of Liverpool Lime Street station.
