Saturday dawned bright and crisp, signaling the start of a cherished weekend routine. The air was filled with the sounds of tiny feet thundering down the hallway, quickly followed by the aroma of pancakes sizzling on the griddle. We spent the morning in our pajamas, constructing an elaborate blanket fort in the living room, using every pillow and chair we could find. After successfully defending our fortress from imaginary dragons (and the family dog), we bundled up for a trip to the local park. The children chased leaves, squealed on the swings, and eventually collapsed, rosy-cheeked and exhausted, ready for an afternoon of quiet reading and movie snuggles before doing it all again tomorrow.
