I'm telling you: try it! As you saw, it permitted me to draw the sketch almost identically twice. Also neat: by changing the scale you can composite elements from multiple sources, maintaining perfect proportions and perspective. It beats other methods like gridding every time.
I have to be in the right kind of mood to draw and I almost never am in that mood lol. I really should draw more though. I do think that it's an awesome technique/tool though.
