Hello dear Hivers!
I’m tremendously fascinated by big metropolises rich in history. In Italy, the most important example of this type of city is certainly the capital, Rome.
It is also called The Eternal City and, when you walk through its streets, it is not difficult to understand why. In fact, Rome was the cradle of Western civilization and you can still appreciate its riches wherever you turn. My Roman friend always says that it is an open-air museum!
I have visited Rome numerous times, but I do not feel like I know it thoroughly. First of all, because it is really big compared to the city where I live, and therefore it takes a lot of time to see all the attractions there are! Furthermore, it seems to me to be a city that is always changing during the time.
In this case I stayed only 3 days and, therefore, I want to share with you some of the beautiful things I photographed.

Sono tremendamente affascinata dalle grandi metropoli ricche di storia. In Italia, l’esempio più importante di questa tipologia di città è sicuramente la capitale, Roma.
Viene chiamata anche La Città Eterna e, quando si passeggia tra le sue strade, non è difficile capirne il motivo. Infatti, Roma è stata la culla della civiltà occidentale ed è ancora possibile apprezzarne le ricchezze ovunque ci si giri. Il mio amico romano dice sempre che si tratta di un museo a cielo aperto!
Ho visitato numerose volte Roma, ma non mi sento di conoscerla a fondo. Innanzitutto, perché è davvero grande rispetto alla città dove vivo, e quindi serve molto tempo per vedere tutte le attrazioni che ci sono! Inoltre, mi sembra una città sempre in continuo mutamento.
In questo caso sono rimasta solamente 3 giorni e, quindi, voglio condividere con voi alcune delle belle cose che ho fotografato.
The first attraction is the Trevi Fountain. Rome is full of fountains, think that it has more than 2,000, of various shapes and sizes.
This one, however, is linked to a particular tradition: each visitor must throw at least three coins into it, as a sign of good luck to return to Rome on a future day. The tradition seems to work, because at the end of each day an average of €3,000 is collected, which the municipality donates to charity!
La prima attrazione è la Fontana di Trevi. Roma è ricca di fontane, pensate che ne ha più di 2.000, di varie forme e dimensioni.
Questa, però, è legata a una tradizione particolare: ogni visitatore deve gettarvi almeno tre monete, come segnale di buon auspicio per ritornare a Roma in un giorno futuro. La tradizione sembra funzionare, perché alla fine di ogni giornata vengono raccolti in media 3000 €, che il comune dona in beneficenza!
Next, I visited the Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheater. It is the largest amphitheater belonging to the Roman era and has reached us quite well preserved. The most fascinating aspect is precisely its grandeur.

Successivamente, ho visitato il Colosseo, anche conosciuto come Anfiteatro Flavio. Si tratta del più grande anfiteatro appartenente all’epoca romana ed è giunto a noi piuttosto ben conservato. L’aspetto più affascinante è proprio la sua imponenza.
