The door of the sun
Hello everyone dear friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I present to you my latest watercolor which has an ancient door as its subject. arched. It is a round arched passage built in the 18th century on the oldest Roman road in Europe, the Via Appia.
It is also called the Neapolitan gate because it is located to the south and represents the first work of art we encounter if we arrive in Terracina from Naples. I wanted to represent this monument to the sun, a very clear and luminous watercolor that enhances the light of the door.
I also eliminated all the buildings that can be seen behind the arch, because in ancient times you could see the sea through it.

La porta del sole
Ciao a tutti cari amici e ben tornati sul mio blog. Oggi vi presento il mio ultimo acquarello che ha come soggetto un antica porta. ad arco. Si tratta di un varco ad arco a tutto sesto costruito nel 18° secolo sulla strada romana più antica d'Europa, la via Appia.
E' anche chiamata porta napoletana perchè è collocata a sud e rappresenta la prima opera d'arte che incontriamo se arriviamo a Terracina da Napoli. Ho voluto rappresentare questa monumento al sole, un acquarello molto chiaro e lumionoso che esalta la luce della porta. Ho anche eliminato tutte le costruzioni che si vedono dietro l'arco, perchè nell'antichità si poteva vedere il mare attraverso di esso.
