Oceanum Procellarum - mixed media on coloured cardboard

Hello everyone Hivers and welcome back to my blog. Today I am back to share a seascape with a sailboat. Today's painting was inspired by the moon I painted on the right side of the picture. The Ocean of Storms or in scientific terms in Latin, Oceanum Procellarum is the largest sea on the lunar surface, it covers an area of 1.5 million square kilometres of basalt. According to one legend, its vision from Earth foretold the arrival of bad weather and storms.

I depicted a brightly coloured sailboat in a very rough sea. I painted the boat and the sail that got out of control with white and some blood red strokes. The sea is lost on the horizon where the carmine red and amaranth strokes begin, making the scene dramatic.

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi torno a condividere un paesaggio marino con una barca a vela. Il dipinto di oggi mi è stato ispirato dalla Luna che ho dipinta sulla destra del quadro. L'oceano delle tempeste o in termine scientifico in Latino, Oceanum Procellarum è il mare più esteso della superificie lunare, esso copre un'area di 1,5 milioni di chilometri quadrati di basalto. Secondo una leggenda, la sua visione dalla Terra preannunciava l'arrivo di brutto tempo e tempeste.

Ho rappresentato una barca a vela con colori accesi, in un mare molto agitato. La barca e la vela che è sfuggita al controllo le ho dipinte con il bianco e alcuni tratti rosso sangue, Il mare si perde all'orizzonte dove inizia il tratto di rosso carminio e amaranto che rende drammatica la scena.
