A bot uses just the same computing power (regardless of whether the bot command is valid or not) because it does the following: 🤓
It reads every comment on the Hive blockchain. If not, the bot moves on to the next comment.
It checks if the user who published the comment is (still) allowed to tip the token.
If the user may tip the token, the bot sends the right amount of token to the recipient (and sometimes to the tipper too depending on the rules), and optionally replies to the comment. If not, the bot may optionally inform the user through a comment that he or she cannot tip and the reason for it.
It looks like misassumption and despair were already affecting you that time, even though they were officially discovered not earlier than November last year! 😆😅
