In the fringe Christian sect I grew up in, God was literally male. In other sects the choice of "he" is cos God the father's relationship with us is easier to understand as patriarchal rather than matriarchal. More progressive Christian sects also use "she".

Well, I have never heard of a Christian referring to God with (she). But I know that God of Ibrahim is a male entity.
Yahwa and Allah both referred to their identity as (we) and a singular male only.
.
I was just asking the author, to get to know his way of thinking regarding the existence.
The Christians I have sometimes heard referring to God as she were progressive Anglicans, though there are also others from sects I did not identify.
I'm interested in this topic too, I hope you don't mind me joining in.

I have never heard any Christian referring to God as she.
I find this interesting too.
Studying religions alongside myths has always been a thing that I am passionate about.
