I saw the trailer and noped the fuck outta there. Had no interest after watching that. After I read about the changes between the book and the netflix adaptation, I was even more grossed out.

I wasn't aware of a book, but after all the fake outrage online I had to watch it, and it was actually a pretty good film with a poignant look into the reality of pressure young girls face today.

The book was nowhere near as sexualized. At least, not in that way. I remember reading about it on twitter a while back and thinking, "what the fuck?"
I never watched the trailer which most who seemed to be so "outraged" by it did watch, but the movie itself wasn't very sexualized though it does explore nascent sexuality in young girls, from what I remember, I watched it a long time ago.

It was specifically the trailer that autoplayed on netflix when you highlighted the show. That was the one that I didn't like.
