Reducing waste helps but there are big problems in garbage collecting and recycling when the plastic ends up in the ocean and is not recycled or burned. Buy only things that last at least a decade from the production day is how I try to reduce my waste production.

Completely agree, but the only way we can control it is by changing our lifestyle. There are already foundations that dedicate to collect the plastic on the ocean and recycle it but they're not enough because of the accelerated way we discard them. Fortunately more people each day are getting conscious of the problem and starting to use other easier to recycle materials.

It seems that here is not enough resources in garbage collection to store all the plastic safely until it is processed and not enough resources in processing to consume the waste. Producers and importers should be obliged to properly collect and process their garbage either directly or by a new garbage fee funded shared infrastructure, and shipping your garbage to another country for recycling should be better regulated because that's how they avoid their responsibility. This is the only working solution I can think of.

Biodegradable materials would benefit everyone. They don't make harm to the environment and the garbage is also easy to process.

That's the way! Thank you for commenting.
